Hockenheim Test Round-Up

Date: 30-31.03.2005
Circuit: Hockenheim (Germany)
Drivers: Marco Bonanomi, Greg Franchi, Franck Perera

There were positive and negative aspects in this last test, before the opening of the F 3 Euro Series Championship, programmed for next 17 April precisely in this circuit of Hockenheim. Weather conditions were really bad, with almost two days of rainfall. Only in the last hour and a half we were able to work under wet weather conditions.
"On a soaked track our three drivers were competitive. Especially Marco Bonanomi who was not able to mark the fastest time only for a few thousands of a second. Also Franck Perera was competitive but unfortunately he made some mistakes which limited the time he had at his disposal. Greg's performance was a bit scarce." This was the first comment of our Team Principal, Angelo Rosin who then added "in the hour and a half when the track was dry, we were soon competitive with used tyres. Then, we had some set up problems with new tyres. Good performance for Marco Bonanomi who was always fighting for a position among the first competitors. Unfortunately, he was forced to finish the test before the end, due to a breakdown. We have to analyse, from tomorrow onwards, all the information gathered during all the tests in order to get ready for the first race."
Marco Bonanomi: "It was a good test under both, wet and dry conditions. In the rain the car was, from the very beginning, very competitive. Today, nearly at the end, when the track was dry I had a problem with the exhaust-pipe and it did not allow me to finish the work as programmed."
Greg Franchi: "Certainly, it was not a good test. We still have to improve under both conditions. The whole team is working hard and I am sure that in the first race we are going to be competitive."
Franck Perera: "When the track was wet, the vehicle was all right. It was not so, with new tyres, in the hour and a half when the track was dry. But before, with used tyres, I had constantly been among the best. Now, we have to analyse all the information gathered in the last tests and try to be, from the first race, in the positions we deserve."
Next appointment will be in the second week of April with the first race of the F 3 Euro Series 2005 Championship.
